Vanderpump Rules viewers seem torn about Katie Maloney. Throughout Season 11, I

Vanderpump Rules viewers seem torn Katie Maloney. Throughout Season 11, I noticed followers calling out Katie for being Ariana Madix’s girlfriend. For some, her owner couldn’t win and was seen as an angry divorcee. However, I would argue that Katie is the friend that literally everyone in the series could benefit from. A true friend never ignores problems, insults you, gets jealous, or tries to gaslight you. This is how Katie presents herself, and I don’t think it should change anytime soon.

Katie is real

For years, Vanderpump Rules viewers only saw a shadow of who Katie used to be. She was too busy defending herself against Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval most of the time to get a word in the right direction. But season 11 was able to show Katie’s ability to call out an intruder when she saw one. Although this rude attitude may seem mean, she was actually sincere.

A prime example of this is during Part 3 of the reunion when Lala Kent seems to keep coming at her. The mother of one did her best to try to catch Katie in a lie, but she couldn’t. After the third attempt, Katie shut it down by raising her voice to match Lala’s. You can say a lot about Katie, but few of them stand up to Lala’s barking.

Katie respects boundaries

I feel like I need to break this down in a non-reality TV way. Think of your amazing group of friends. Your best friend is dating a guy, and everyone finds out that he’s been having a secret affair for months. The rest of your friends crowd around the girl, some even riding her tail. I mean Sheena Shay and Lala, we remember the Uber Eats commercial. But the moment your best friend tells everyone not to include a cheater in her life, the alliance changes. Suddenly, these simple boundaries became too much.

This is not a friend of mine. But somehow, while Schwartz, Scheana, Lala, and Lisa Vanderpump all fail to respect Ariana, Katy passes on bright colors. Katie made sure to stick by Ariana many times, even in the face of adversity. So whatever evil edit people were trying to give Katie, it’s not working. She’s the fucking heroine.

Katie accepted

In a season of Vanderpump Rules full of “Choose Me” energy, there was something to be said for how Katie didn’t beat around the bush. She picked up her side, planting her feet firmly in the grass, never wavering. When you are honest and authentic, it will make others insecure. We saw this play when Sandy tried to explain that he didn’t actually hate Katie. Instead, he stumbled over his words and lit it up again, arguing that he hadn’t talked so badly about her to Schwartzy.

Instead of being kind and understanding (as most girls are taught from a young age), Katie tells Tom to “choke up.” She wasn’t about to play into his twisted narrative or delusion. He was a terrible friend to her, and she made it very clear that she did not have to accept this treatment.

The Queen never bows

Katie is the queen of Vanderpump Rules, and she’s not about to hand over her crown anytime soon. I’ll admit, Katie is more like the Queen of Hearts than a humble maid. I like her attitude of cutting heads now and asking questions later. While this approach doesn’t always win her points among the group, she largely stays true to herself. Her idea of protection also includes her close friends. It was rare to see Katie on her high horse.

The OG star can listen to what others have to say but not be influenced by what is right. I love her ability to be honest, even if it hurts. In my opinion, Katie is a damn delight. I’ll ride her at dawn anytime. Now, if only more cast members could take a page out of her book. But this is a horse of a different color.
