Bravo’s hit song “Ladies of London” first aired in 2014, on the same day as Happy

Bravo hit London ladies It first aired in 2014, back in the day when Pharrell Williams’ Happy was number one and people were obsessed with Frozen. The drama series showcased the cultural differences between England and America in many respects. And let me tell you there are some very funny things. Although we are allies in many ways, the British and Americans are different in many ways. Caroline Stanbury has highlighted this a lot. The British stars had a stiff upper lip while the Americans showed a lot of emotion for their liking. But fans can’t help but fall in love with the series.

Well, that’s what I remember. I’m pretty sure Ladies of London was never broadcast in the UK and was only produced for an American audience. So, after initially watching and then re-watching years later, it was interesting to learn that Caroline wasn’t a household name in the English language. Although Caprice Bourret was sold as an American in London high society, this was not the case because she was a glamorous D-type model, an English version of the Playmate. But I can’t deny that the cast dynamic was great regardless of how popular they were beforehand. This leads me to believe that Bravo needs to bring the series back.

Previous sponsors had everything

Living as an expat in another country is not always as glamorous as one might think. Although it may seem like they would be living in a strange place, there are privileges that we give up. Watching Ladies of London was the perfect pick-me-up for those who also live away from their homes in London. The show featured American expatriates, including Juliet Angus and Marissa Hermer, who were shown enjoying the luxurious London lifestyle. But as we learned, you can take the girl out of the United States, but you can’t take the United States out of the girl. I really like Juliet. She was kind, and I loved her enthusiasm and naivety. And while she may have been out of her depth, she showed what it means to be a proud American.

I’d like to see a new group of women, basically a reboot. The update could show how Britons and Americans live in London now. It would be interesting to show how inflation and the cost of a plane ticket now affect the cast. I would also be interested in their political thoughts because we have seen climate change in both countries.

Above the chin

To say I lived for the British was an understatement. Its humor and dry sarcasm added to the show’s popularity because Americans don’t know how to act that way. There is no doubt that the combination of Americans and British just worked. It was an easy entry point for Americans to understand cultural differences. The ladies were chaotic but entertaining. Caroline herself gave some epic lines, my personal favorite being: “She was crying like the Titanic had taken her babies.”

Although Annabelle Nelson is no longer with us, she was also a cool Brit. Her inability to care about Americans’ mundane problems made her an iconic figure. It was also great to learn about her being an inspiration for Alexander McQueen. Annabelle, like Caroline, are fierce women, and I don’t always feel that lively enough when watching some of The Housewives.

The view must be renamed

If I could choose one way to reignite the passion for the Ladies of London, I would sell Bravo on the Real Housewives of London series. It would be great to see a mix of previous and new cast members. Although Caroline is on Real Housewives of Dubai, she could appear as a ‘friend’ and help promote the new Real Housewives spin-off. The truth is that The Real Housewives of Cheshire has been running for over 12 seasons and is set in a wealthy town in England. So why not London? I feel like someone dropped the ball on Bravo with this one.
