Why did Kelly Bensimon cancel her wedding?
What a wild day it was a few days ago Kelly Bensimon. This weekend, she and Scott Littner were ready to get married, but now they’re not. Instead, the Real Housewives of New York City alum called the whole thing off, and as the days go by, we’re finding out exactly why she decided to pull that plug. Basically, Kelly’s a hoola[ed]We want before marriage! We want a pre-marriage! “Yes!”, but Scott sang that last lyric no, killing everything in turn.
Kelly Bensimon’s wedding has been cancelled, and now we know why
Page Six was the first to report on Kelly’s broken engagement. “I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I will not be moving forward with this wedding,” Kelly told the outlet via a prepared statement. Then I asked for privacy.
Turning to PEOPLE magazine, Kelly just revealed that she “refused to marry him” because Scott, the financier, failed to sign a prenuptial agreement. I can completely understand this move, to be clear. Both parties have lived full lives thus far, and their acquired assets (and debts) would be equally put at stake, should this union fail. So, yeah, Kelly and Scott needed to protect their bags here, but it looks like Scott didn’t agree with that.
“Ultimately, my decision is no one’s business, but I understand that there is speculation and rumours, and I want to put all that to rest,” Kelly began. “To be clear, he refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, and I refused to marry him. Period.”
People also noted that they reached out to Scott to get his opinion on the matter. However, at this time, Scott has yet to respond. It is worth noting that this will be Kelly’s second marriage. Her first marriage to Gilles Bensimon, a famous fashion photographer, ended in 2006, and Kelly gave them two daughters, Si and Teddy.
