When it comes to The Real Housewives of Potomac, the women know their job

When it comes to The Real Housewives of PotomacWomen know their job roles. For seasons, fans should know Robin Dixon and Candace Dillard Bassett. However, like all good things, their run had to come to an end. With Season 9 premiering on Sunday, fans are holding their breath as they wait to see if the new season and recent additions will fill the shoes of missing former Housewives.

The season 9 premiere of RHOP was good

Okay, let’s get one thing out of the way. I can admit that the Season 9 premiere was palatable. The women responded as if nothing had changed, and for a brief moment, I didn’t notice the absence of Robyn or Candiace. But when Gizelle Bryant entered the scene, I immediately missed seeing the other half of the green-eyed bandit. But I digress. The episode was enjoyable enough. Fans were treated to a reenactment of Karen Huger’s DUI. The older lady already had a previous DUI, and this second one could cost her jail time. But she seemed unfazed by the prospect and still looked as gorgeous as ever. Ashley Darby may be on her last stop with the franchise but she’s finally ready to move forward with her divorce. Thank goodness.

Fans were introduced to the newbies, and they fit in perfectly. I think Stacey Rusch was a perfect addition. She is going through a divorce and came home to get some support. I can already tell that she will be a soldier for Karen, which will be very entertaining for the viewers. After the 40-minute episode, I wasn’t hoping for Robyn and Candiace to return to our small screen, but I wasn’t entirely convinced that Bravo wouldn’t need them.

Season 8 was difficult to watch, especially since Candiace refused to film with half the crew. But regardless, the former beauty queen has made good TV shows. I will forever miss her constant battles with Ashley and thought I would put a triangular box in front of my TV in her honor. During her time on The Real Housewives of Potomac, Candiace had some great catchphrases like “Not today’s neck.” Although she had a very sharp tongue, she had some made-for-TV moments.

Candace left the series after six seasons. The Bravo personality shared that she wants to focus her passion on other projects like her singing career. As fans know, she always wanted to start a family and announced her pregnancy shortly after. In her statement, Candiace revealed that she wanted to create a peaceful, free, and positive space for herself, her husband, and their unborn child without the added pressure of the show. However, time will tell if the series will miss Candiace and her extremely messy ways. I doubt she’ll come back as a friend.

Robyn Dixon brought balance to the force in RHOP

Fans were divided when news broke that Robyn was fired from The Real Housewives of Potomac. Some viewers noted that they would miss the mother of two as she brought a unique balance to the group dynamic. Others thought her pink slip had been a long time coming. Many said it had too many opportunities to control its narrative and found it a bit boring. In my humble opinion, Robyn will be missed the most by viewers and her group of friends. But after eight seasons, Bravo chose not to invite Robyn back. The first episode of Season 9 made me feel like I was missing Robin. I never found it boring. She has withheld information at times, but her story with Juan Dixon fascinated me. However, I think I was in the minority.

Overall, I think The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 will hold up without Candiace or Robyn at the helm. The group felt lighter in the Hattitude encounter because Candiace’s venomous statements were not made. You could tell that Ashley and Gisele also felt more comfortable. And while I thought Robyn was an asset, I have to admit that other than not being in the scenes with Giselle, she also wasn’t missing out on everything.
