Tom Girardi’s lawyers want to know if jurors are Bravo fans

As the trial date approached, lawyers said Tom Girardi, Erika Jayne’s estranged husband, are covering their bases. They want potential jurors to reveal their exposure to the “Bravoverse.” This includes watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, especially if they are fans of the series.

According to Bloomberg Law, the team wants to screen the jurors to determine whether their views of Tom will be skewed.

Clear bias

Erica and Tom’s relationship has been featured prominently throughout the seasons of RHOBH. As well as his subsequent downfall and legal problems. In addition, the show is watched by millions. The fame of his famous reality TV star ex-wife can greatly impact public perception. She has millions of social media followers.

Tom Pal’s legal defense feels… I did well The show encourages viewers to form parasocial relationships with the subjects of their reality shows. They also worry that this will affect juror perceptions.

For this reason, Tom’s attorneys advocate that all potential jurors answer a specific questionnaire before appearing for jury selection. This method was also used in another attorney fraud trial in 2021. It was decided that this was the fairest course of action.

On the other hand, the prosecution indicated that it opposes this proposal.

This movement gives everyone a glimpse into how the defense strategy is implemented. How will they try to contain the role that the media will inevitably play in this issue? While Tom once tried to get media attention for this feature, they now know it could be harmful.

Tom has been charged in Illinois and California. He faces wire fraud charges for allegedly embezzling millions from clients of the now-bankrupt Los Angeles law firm Gerardi Casey. He and the other defendants pleaded not guilty. A trial date has been set for August 6, 2024.

TELL US – Do you think this is a wise move by the defence? Should Bravo fans be excluded from the judging panel?
