Todd and Julie Chrisley had to pay $30,000 to the judge

The Chrisleys still aren’t getting their way. The Chrisley Knows Best stars have been holding on for dear life over the past few years. Todd And Julie Chrisley They were convicted on multiple fraud charges after a long legal battle. The couple turned themselves in to a federal prison in January 2023. Since then, they have worked with their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, to try to get them out. They file appeals and spread awareness about their treatment behind bars. But while matters were progressing in court, the couple were further ordered to hand over nearly $30,000 they had stored in a trust fund.

Chrisley should give up this money

According to WSBTV, Todd and Julie have to hand over $30,000 they had in an IOLTA trust account. The abbreviation stands for “Interest on Lawyer Trust Account,” which is common in such cases. You usually get them for retainer fees, settlements, and damages awarded by the court.

The family has $29,932.23 in the account, legal documents said. Unfortunately for them, it all has to be used in their $17 million judgment.

Savannah has been open about her parents’ case, saying she hopes the appeals process works in their favor. In April 2024, she said she was trying to “stay positive” as much as possible given the circumstances. “I’m trying to educate myself. It’s very hard to know that it can’t go in our direction,” she explained. “That’s a tough pill to swallow.”

If their appeal is unsuccessful, Savannah noted that the family has “other avenues to take.”

“Again, I feel very grateful for that,” she said. “… There are other avenues given how our trial is going that we could take to get a new trial or, you know, just hopefully get them out early.”
