The TikToker died on October 4 at age 25 after suffering complications from asthma and Addison’s disease, a spokesperson for her family told TODAY.com.

Addison’s disease is an uncommon, chronic condition that occurs when the body doesn’t produce enough of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone, according to the Mayo Clinic. The disease is also known as adrenal insufficiency, because it affects the adrenal glands in the kidneys. It can be fatal if left untreated, according to the NHS.

Before her death, Taylor was open about her health journey as well as her life as an “asthma.” In an Instagram post shared in March, the Texas-based influencer shared several photos from a hospital bed, including a shot of herself attached to what appears to be a respirator.

“My good days may look different from yours, but my bad days remind me how valuable the good days are in my life,” she wrote in the caption.
