This week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County is titled “The Dinner Party.”

This week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange CountyThe song “Disaster Dinner Party” was a bit boring. Last week’s episode ended with Katie’s death at the hands of Heather. Tensions remain at an all-time high as Valentine’s Day approaches. Hopefully the women can start feeling the love soon. Emily and Shane celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary in a “healthy” way, and Tamra finally loses her cool with Shannon. Here’s a recap of the fifth episode of season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

When I die, I want to be reincarnated as Heather. Even though she was on a rampage the next morning at the Balboa Bay Beach Club, she still had a pretty good life. While Heather was drinking orange juice, she could make a great girl’s breakfast, complete with face masks. Say what you want, but I like Terri’s opinion when it comes to girl drama. It turns out the doctor loves it when the paparazzi take his picture. In fact, he wants Katie’s girlfriend’s number so he can tell him next time. Honestly, it’s hilarious, Terri!

But amidst the banter, Heather questions Gina’s loyalty. The actress feels confused and upset by the whole situation, and rightfully so. However, according to Gina, she thought it was in her best interest not to say anything about Katie’s gossip. But Gina can always admit when she’s made a mistake and tell Heather that she “got it wrong.”

Katie contacts Shannon.

It’s the day after the drunk driving incident, and it’s Valentine’s Day! I sense a new light coming up between Shannon and Katie. “Sometimes you meet people, and you can joke around with them,” Ms. Beddor, who is known for not being very good with new girls, tells the cameras. I can see her heart grow two sizes already! And while Shannon might be considered a bit of a pessimist, Katie is trying to get to know her. It looks like Katie and Shannon might be allies in their shared annoyance with Fantasy Pants.

“I admired you for sticking with Heather,” Shannon, who spent most of her time hiding behind a lamp on the golf course, tells Katie. At that point, Katie shows Shannon the receipts, or the text. You know, this text will be used later. Katie also opens up about how she thinks Gina left her in an awkward position, saying, “She’s afraid of letting Heather down.”

Put those ducks in a row.

So far this season, Gina has had several meetings with various cast members. Honestly, the coffee bill must be starting to add up. But finally, Katie and Gina meet to clear things up. The newbie tells Gina, “I feel like you’ve abandoned me; I stood by Heather. I feel like there’s a way to stay neutral.” But despite her friend’s tears, Gina isn’t willing to support the new girl in her nonsense. The real estate agent declares that she should have been more supportive of Heather and that she’s unwilling to support Katie under the circumstances.

I love Katie, so when she broke down, I felt sorry for her: Katie clearly felt betrayed and pushed aside. Gina would clearly never support Katie, which is typical for a woman who is always on the fence, afraid of upsetting anyone in the group.

Alexis has changed

I never imagined there would be a world where Tamra and Alexis would be having bread and cookies. Lexie, who calls herself “Funny Lexie,” is annoying, but it makes sense that she would try to befriend Tammy Sue. She needs an ally. Tamra immediately starts spilling secrets, claiming that she always tried to help Shannon. As Tamra catches her breath, Alexis comes back to defend her man.

Alexis says John rarely gets drunk when he’s with her. While snacking on crumble cookies, Tamra drops a bombshell that Shannon told her she actually “borrowed” money for a $75,000 facelift. If Shannon’s face could move, she’d be frowning right now.

I’m not sure why Gina threw a dinner party, but it was nice to know that she’s “allergic to idiots.” Everyone is invited, including Queen V. I thought Tamra’s biggest mistake was showing up as Gina’s confessional. But no, before cocktails could be had, things were going badly. I was starting to think that Heather wasn’t wrong for always wanting to have seat tickets. Once again, Vicki was back to being Shannon’s sidekick and support animal. I was immediately taken aback by the entrance to the dining room, which made my jaw drop to the floor. But honestly, how did Victoria not see a secret door to another room? You do a lot, V.

It’s a spider’s web of conflict.

The Tres Amigas made it clear that their partying days were over. Tamra couldn’t help herself, and as the waiter began taking orders, she said, “Oh yeah, an alcoholic has to drink.” A pin could be heard dropping. Tamra had no right to be the drinking police, but she was right to be concerned about her friend who chose to drive drunk. Tamra slammed the table and screamed that Shannon was an alcoholic. In the background, amidst the loud screaming, Tamra was heard whispering, “Liar liar, Spanx is on fire.”

Meanwhile, Alexis seems to have gotten her fix as she brings up Johnny J. again. But in a moment of clarity, Vicki asks the big question about why she always supports John. Alexis simply says, “I trust everything John says because I watch what he does.” Also, why has Vicki always supported Brooks Ayers? Sit down, Vicki.

In the most bizarre part of the evening, Vicki, disgusted by all this fighting, stands up to deliver a sermon. “This is toxic to me,” says the former orange carrier. “You have to be kind. Humans need to do that, especially when we are women of faith. I know you believe in Jesus Christ. We don’t treat people that way.” A pot/kettle with a little Jesus for a nice touch.

Vicki giving advice on how to behave is funny. But Bravo was ready for it, having prepared her with ten years of videos of Vicki acting like a jerk. Someone needs to remind Vicki of the meaning of church and state. There is no mercy in the world of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Real Housewives of Orange County continues Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.

Tell us – are you starting to feel sorry for Shannon? Do you agree with Vicki’s engagement?
