This season is on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake Citythe newest housewife Bronwyn Newport Makes a big noise. This newcomer was introduced as a friend of Lisa Barlow’s, and he came out strong from the jump. I’ve already criticized the perceived hypocrisy of Lisa and Heather Jay. And she got really tough with Brittany Pittman. But most of all, she stands out because of her quirky personal style.
Bronwyn is very proud of her bold appearance. After all, her motto is: “The only silent thing in my closet is my black card.” But like her fiery personality, her outfits can be a little divisive. Specifically, they’ve sparked debates about whether or not her collections can be called fashion, even if they’re by famous designers.

When discussing her style, Bronwyn compared herself to Tim Burton. She also said that she never cared about looking sexy. However, Bronwyn can provide some stylish and elegant looks as well. See, for example, the very chic white turtleneck sweater and matching pants set she wore in her first RHOSLC scene in her house.
Bronwyn’s other appearances may be unusual for Real Housewives, but for the cast’s image, she’s known to look the part. She looks glamorous in an old Hollywood way, which suits her well. Of course, this speaks volumes about Bronwyn’s fierce style as the super flattering dress is one of her most muted looks! While her other dresses may spark controversy, I think we can all agree that this gorgeous Bronwyn dress is a statement piece, not a costume.
Bronwyn Newport’s much-discussed heartthrob from the season 5 premiere of RHOSLC
Bronwyn walked into RHOSLC with an outfit that people are still talking about all these weeks ago. You know, the coat that looked like a giant fuzzy heart. Hey, it was a Valentine’s Day themed party!
This, of course, is where the fashion vs. couture debate over Bronwyn’s wardrobe began. Fellow rookie Brittany called the coat a costume, which also drew disdain from Mary Cosby. Well, that and Brittany assumes that Mary grew up poor. Who would have thought that a coat could stir up so much drama? Of course, the rift between Bronwyn and Brittany is now about much more than just their different tastes in clothing.
According to Bronwyn, only three of these coats exist. One of them belongs to Rihanna, and the other is in the museum. If this is true, it makes this high fashion by default. However, it’s an eye-catching appearance, so it’s not silly for Brittany to call it a costume. If anything, this distracted from her very cute lip-print dress, which was so perfect for the Besos event.
Bronwyn Moschino’s costume on the Milwaukee Miller Lite RHOSLC tour
Like many Salt Lake City Housewives, Bronwyn wore three different outfits on the final night of the Milwaukee team’s road trip. During the Miller High Life factory tour, she wore her first head-to-toe Moschino ensemble.
This is cute and looks very comfortable. I imagine it’s very warm, perfect for Milwaukee in February. As we know, Bronwyn isn’t averse to sacrificing warmth for fashion. The editors showed us that in the season premiere, where she wore hot pants and a crop top on a 36-degree day. It’s a cute and practical set, so we’ll definitely be ruling this high-fashion outfit out.
For the Harley Davidson ride, Bronwyn changed into a motorcycle jacket with a black tulle skirt. This outfit had a classic, elegant feel that was also more design than fashion. But it was her final look of the night that received the most attention.
Hot Dog Band Bronwyn on drag night on RHOSLC
For her final look of the night, Bronwyn wore an ensemble that made her heart-shaped coat look simple by comparison. For a drag show hosted by Whitney Rose at Trixie Mattel’s venue, Bronwyn, who proudly supports drag queens, transformed from her motorcycle-chic look into a complete package of sausages. There was a robe that looked like a hot dog bun and everything!
According to Bronwyn, she saw it herself as she walked down the Moschino runway and thought, “I have to have it.” She wore the look of note, including a mustard hat and ketchup earrings. At the very least, we can admire Bronwyn’s commitment to a topic. Moschino is a big brand that, like Bronwyn herself, has a fun look that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Some brands’ designs can’t be described as cosplay, nor is that an insult.
Ultimately, Mary Cosby said it best. The heart-shaped coat was the couture, but the hot dog dress is a costume.
