There’s no doubt in my mind about that Ariana Madix He’s had one hell of a year. She ended a ten-year relationship with Tom Sandoval. She started a new business and dealt with moving out of her dream home. So, when she first started campaigning to separate her friends from Sandy, she kind of got the idea. Ariana wanted to find peace in a somewhat hostile environment. But instead of abandoning Vanderpump Rules like most of us do, she stuck with it. She refused to photograph with her former lover. But now that it has been one year since the scandal, her campaign has faltered. People are tired of her demands.
What is Ariana’s goal?
Ariana isn’t saying that X can’t be friends with Y. In fact, the Love Island USA host is just setting personal boundaries. But we all know how some people can react to restrictions. Many take these sets of personal rules seriously and personally. Ariana doesn’t give an ultimatum per se; She’s just noticing what could happen if a friend oversteps her trust and breaks her. With the season 11 premiere, viewers watched Ariana tell Shayna Shay, Lala Kent, and Katie Maloney that she wouldn’t let Tom know anything about her life. The request seemed fair enough. But I think along the way, Ariana’s lines started to blur.
A friend to everyone is a friend to none
Ariana currently lives by this creed, with many friends falling by the wayside. Her best friend, Scheana, struggled the most with Ariana’s request. As the mother of one noted most frequently, she feels she owes Tom a lot. When Scheana first started working at SUR, he was the only one who included her during cast outings. While she was dealing with the witches of WeHo, Tom was her friend. Chyna also revealed that Tom once sent her money when she shared that she was struggling during the pandemic.
Between the crying scenes and the moments of redemption, Chyna made it very clear that she was ready to give Tom a second chance. In an early conversation with Ariana, the Good as Gold singer shared that she believes Tom can make changes. “I just want to continue to see if he’s on the path to growth,” the singer said. At the time, Ariana made it clear that she didn’t want to hear about Tom. But she still loves and appreciates the friendship with Shesh. However, throughout Season 11, Ariana couldn’t refrain from making faces whenever Chyna or Lala mentioned the possibility of forgiving Sandy.
During the finale, Ariana doubled down again. The Chicago star revealed that Chyna wasn’t going to lose her even though she was clearly reconnecting with Sandy. Aristotle’s famous phrase (totally having an Elle Woods moment) suggests that it is impossible to be friends with everyone during a major conflict. Ariana isn’t wrong for wanting to make sure she has real friends around her. She only declares that she sees everyone’s true colors.
Ariana values honesty
No one can deny that Ariana has remained steadfast on the fact that she will not make fake friendships. Again, I wonder why a lot of viewers feel like she’s dictating who can be friends when she’s just trying to protect herself. While Ariana may have raised her voice a few times when Sandoval approached or around her, for the most part she respectfully listened to what they said.
In the first part of the reunion, while Lala was running her mouth, Ariana still noted that she appreciated Lala being upfront about talking to Sandoval, which was why they were (at least at that point) still able to be friends. Ariana takes loyalty very seriously, so the fact that she could honestly accept Chyna and Lala’s opinions was too much for her. So, if you can’t tell by the end of this article, I’m talking about Ariana and her boundaries, and I hope she continues to enforce them!
