There was a lot to take in as the lights went out on Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules. Ariana Madix She left her heart broken into a million pieces after she learned that Tom Sandoval The months-long love affair with Rachel Leves continued. Everywhere you looked, there was drama. Between angry outbursts and broken penises, no place was safe. With the eleventh season airing, fans were kept in the loop thanks to the reality show about the breakup.
If we’re being honest, season 11 was really boring. The cast didn’t want to film together, Sandy couldn’t take the hint of leaving Ariana alone, Scheana Shay was stuck in the middle and was unfaithful, and Lala Kent was the production puppet and was unfaithful — allegedly. So, personally, I was already prepared for the show to be canceled. But now that Tom has gone and filed a lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend, I fear the end is nigh.
Tom Sandoval Lawsuit Explained
On July 16, Sandy opted to file a lawsuit against Ariana, alleging that she accessed Rachel’s explicit videos without “permission.” While it may seem like Sandoval is pulling the strings, the legal issues at stake are real. Us Weekly reports that Tom’s lawsuit alleges that Ariana “copied” the video of her masturbating and sent it to “Levis and third parties” without his permission. The move comes after both Tom and Ariana were dealt a legal blow when a Los Angeles judge dismissed their countersuit against Rachel.
Ariana’s attorneys responded to Tom’s lawsuit by issuing a statement that read: “It is disgusting that Tom Sandoval continues to torment Ms. Madix. From engaging in an illicit affair that shattered her home and stability, to months of emotional warfare and now this attempt to evade personal responsibility for the effects his actions have had on her and her emotional well-being. Tom Sandoval knows all too well the type of privilege he and Ms. Madix share over their personal communications devices.”
Tom Sandoval broke the law.
Although Bravo acknowledged that Vanderpump Rules was taking a short hiatus for production, the show was well worth the SUR costume. The fact that Tom was able to stay on the show for this long is amazing. Fans were outraged when news broke that Tom had videotaped Rachel without her permission.
If what Rachel claims is true, Tom has broken the law. California’s wiretapping law states that “California’s wiretapping law is a two-party consent law. California makes it a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication, including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation.”
It’s hard to believe that fans will want to see Tom take center stage in another silly movie after this new lawsuit. The way he rallied everyone except Ariana and Katie Maloney around the over-the-top bartender was ridiculous. The production has backed the wrong horse, and it will cost them dearly.
What about a Vanderpump Rules reboot?
Okay, I don’t mean to be harsh (I totally mean to), but the Vanderpump Rules cast has gotten older. Some of them have gotten boring. Some of them have gotten bad (I’m looking at you, Sandoval, and Ariana’s “best friends”). But none of them make for good TV anymore. I guess there are two options.
The first idea is to wipe the slate clean and hire a whole new crop of up-and-coming models/actors. Now, I should point out that Lisa Vanderpump tried to do this with her Hulu show Vanderpump Villa. It didn’t work. If a French country chateau can’t win fans, I don’t know what will.
The second option is to remake a new series with Katie and Ariana. Most fans want to see these two women flourish. The Toms have abused both of them for years, and it seems strange that the boys continue to get rewarded for their bad behavior. I don’t want to see Lala and Shayna on The Valley because this show is perfect as it is.
The last thing I want is to see this divided and divided group shift their focus to their jealousy of Ariana, who has just had the worst year of her life after losing her dog, her grandmother, her best friend and her partner of 9 years. To be honest, I’m not even sure I’ll watch a remake at this rate.
