The Real Housewives series offers a lot to its fans, especially when it comes to…

the Real Housewives The franchise has a lot to offer its fans, especially when it comes to entertainment value. Many of the Real Housewives stars use their fame, fortune, and influence for good through giving back. Charity is a major part of every iteration of the Bravo franchise. The shows often feature charity events where drama naturally occurs between the co-stars. Some of these fundraising events even become recurring events each season. For example, consider the material that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mined from Dorit Kemsley’s work on Homeless Not Toothless (a reference to Kathy Hilton’s mistakenly calling it Toothless and Homeless).

When discussing The Real Housewives, it’s easy to focus on the controversies, villains, and arguments. But that’s not all there is to the show, or the women who star in it. So today, we’re choosing to focus on the good deeds the Real Housewives do to support great causes, which can be overlooked.

The fate of Real Housewives of New Jersey may be hanging in the balance right now. But either way, we have two cast members on our list who are doing their best to give back.

Danielle Cabral runs Sunrise Day Camp on Staten Island. The camp allows kids with cancer (and their siblings) to attend a free, all-day summer camp. There are additional programs for kids throughout the year as well. This is a great cause that Danielle has supported for years, even before she joined RHONJ.

To ensure that the kids can attend day camp for free, Danielle hosts an annual fundraising event, “Party Like a Housewife.” In 2023, the event raised $25,000. Last year, she was joined by fellow actors Rachel Voda and Melissa Gorga, and she posted about them on her Instagram. She even met her estranged father!

The organization’s CEO praised Danielle, telling silive.com: “She cares deeply about our campers and their families, and we are so grateful for her years of support.”

Bronwyn Newport, from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, is offering to buy school supplies for teachers.

RHOSLC newcomer Bronwyn Newport has already made quite the splash, especially with her quirky and adorable style. Ahead of the Season 5 premiere, Bronwyn has also been using social media to showcase her interests and values, so RHOSLC viewers can get to know her. And what a great impression she’s made so far!

Ahead of back-to-school season, she wrote on X, “If you’re a teacher, send me your Amazon wish list and I’ll send some classrooms some items to start this school year off right!” And to prove her word, Bronwyn shared screenshots of the purchases she made for teachers. “From your profile, I can see you love raffles, and you support teachers,” one person tweeted. “You might have to follow through this season.”

In addition to supporting teachers, Bronwyn is involved in many charities and causes. She is also a huge supporter of voting rights, drag queens, and the organization that brings them together, Drag Out The Vote.

Lisa Vanderpump Dog Foundation

Lisa Vanderpump’s love of dogs is legendary. In fact, it’s the reason she left The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And fans will never forget the story of Lucy Apple Juice! But while that story was a low point in The Real Housewives’ lives, Lisa’s animal rights activism is the high point of her career.

Although Lisa was already famous for her love of animals (even Gigi was a celebrity), she officially launched the Vanderpump Dogs Foundation in 2016. Since its inception, the foundation has supported important legislation, hosted the annual World Dog Day, and advocated for animal rights initiatives around the world. For example, one of Lisa’s biggest causes is rescuing puppies from the Yulin Dog Meat Festival and the meat trade in China. Back home in California, she opened the Vanderpump Dogs Rescue Center, encouraging potential pet owners to adopt, not shop. The rescue center even got its own branch on Peacock.

Lisa’s organization, Vanderpump Dogs, was also prominently featured on Vanderpump Rules. The show also highlighted Lisa’s support for the LGBTQ+ community, especially during the annual Pride Parade in West Hollywood.

It’s not just Hearts of Glory– RHOSLC board member Meredith Marks is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community. Her support for GLAAD is evident on and off screen. This includes donating proceeds from her jewelry line and t-shirts in honor of Pride. On season 2 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, we saw her doing a Pride photoshoot. In 2023 and 2024, she attended and helped host the GLAAD Media Awards. She is passionate about the importance of representation in the media.

Her advocacy also begins at home. In an interview with GLAAD, Meredith spoke glowingly about her son Brooks Marks. “I’m so proud as a mom, as an entrepreneur, as everything, just to see the way he’s grown and matured and found his space,” Meredith said. RHOSLC viewers know how close Meredith is to her youngest child, and how proud and protective she is of him. The designer paid similar tribute to his mother. Brooks also called the GLAAD Awards the best event he’s ever been to.

Dolores Catania Annual Charity Softball Game

Dolores Catania was named Miss Bravo for good reason! The fan-favorite RHONJ actress is an advocate for many causes, including animal rights. In what has become an annual RHONJ tradition (at least in its current form), Dolores leads a team of her castmates in a charity softball game. The Brooklyn battle is still going strong, raising money to fund Maimonides Health initiatives. RHONJ filming may be on hold, but the game between the Housewives and the Maimonides Health Care team is still on for the fifth year in a row. This year’s game raised over $100,000 to go to the hospital’s breast center in Brooklyn.

Dolores’ commitment to breast cancer awareness is well known to RHONJ fans. She even got a mammogram and a breast biopsy during the show. And at a game last year, she gave a shoutout to another beloved Real Housewives star, Guerdy Abraira, who is now cancer-free. Hopefully, baseball will go on, no matter what happens with RHONJ.

Tell us – have you ever heard of any charitable work done by housewives to support great causes? What other charitable efforts have been done by housewives to support great causes that we should highlight?
