Surfer Bethany Hamilton shares update after her nephew’s drowning

Shark attack survivors Bethany Hamilton Grateful for the outpouring of support amid a heartbreaking experience.

After the professional surfer shared it with her nephew Andrew3, was hospitalized after the drowning, and expressed her gratitude for the guidance and well wishes the family has received since then.

“We are optimistic,” Bethany wrote in the comments section on October 12. “Thank you for your prayers and support. We are in contact with many helpful individuals. We are confident that God has placed Andrew in His hands.”

Among the medical experts with whom the family communicates is Dr. Paul Harcha world-renowned medical expert in drowning injuries, after his daughter saw the call.

“Please pray for Andrew and all his loved ones. Pray that we can do the best we can during this difficult time,” the 34-year-old wrote in another update on October 13.
