Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac started off with a bang, or I should

the The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 started off with a bang, or should I say, a cliffhanger. Exaggerated reenactment Karen Huger The DUI surprised me. He highlighted the seriousness of the problem while simultaneously making fun of it. The video was not for the DARE campaign. Rather, it’s a light-hearted way for Bravo to deal with The Real Housewives’ second drunk driving problem in one year. Karen has always been a pillar of the series, but she needs a serious course correction if she hopes to salvage her Grande Dame title.

Karen Huger needs to admit she’s made a mistake twice

As viewers learned from the season premiere, this wasn’t the first time the mother of two got behind the wheel while drunk. The arrest shocked viewers and actors who thought all the people Karen would know better. The reenactment showed that Karen left the diner on March 19, 2024, and began her journey home. One month later, Karen still hadn’t left her house and seemed uncomfortable about the whole situation. Mia Thornton said what almost everyone was thinking: “Putting yourself in danger, not society. ‘You’re Karen Huger, honey, call the car.'” Perhaps the most horrific part of the whole incident is that Karen is a habitual offender. As she stated in her confession in 2017, 2018, “Maryland has a zero-tolerance policy yet has forgotten this law, choosing convenience over safety.”

It seems strange that Karen, who prides herself on being a mother, wife, and businesswoman, is once again putting herself in situations where her character could be called into question. Karen’s half-hearted confession, in which she points out that “accidents happen,” didn’t exactly sit well with me as a viewer. She felt like she was minimizing her role in the car wreck. Karen touched on her injuries but never mentioned anyone else she could have hurt while behind the wheel.

Karen Huger needs to embrace those around her

I loved watching Karen All these years on The Real Housewives of Potomac. Between adjusting her wigs in front of the camera and shading women behind their backs, Karen makes good television. And I think many of her co-stars really care about her. But Karen has a way of turning people off because she withholds information. It makes her feel inaccessible and prevents people from helping her. During the season premiere, Karen and Gizelle Bryant stopped by a pizzeria where the manager reported that Karen had never drunk while in his establishment. The conversation seemed forced and annoying.

I think if Karen had been able to be more honest with those around her, she would have gone further. For once, Giselle seemed genuinely worried about her friend. But instead of opening up, Karen clapped back: “You can read.” By the look on Giselle’s face, you can feel her retreating and retreating. It’s okay to admit that you need a friend to rely on, but I don’t think Karen has gotten the memo yet because she’s still trying to maintain her place on the pedestal.

Karen Huger cannot be the victim

I realize that the grande dame may want to play the victim, but she should really transform herself into the hero of her own story. Shortly after the premiere, Karen took to Watch What Happens Live to vent her frustrations with the rest of the cast. She noted that watching the episode “brought me back to that time, and it is still ongoing, and it was very painful to watch because I lived in it.” But Karen’s biggest anger was about the way the women expressed their concerns. Karen looked at Ashley and said, “I mean, you know I care about these women, and all I wanted them to do was be patient and wait because it’s an ongoing issue.”

She added: “But you know Ashley’s saying what she said — and let’s be clear, Ashley should be concerned about her relationship with alcohol the way Corona sucks.” I’m just saying. Instead of distracting and attacking other women, Karen was able to give back to the community by sharing her story. If Karen can harness her powers, she can really make a difference and show that, yes, while she made a mistake, she is willing to help others learn from it.

The Real Housewives of Potomac is gushing over Peacock.
