90 Day Fiance: The Other Way Season 6 is officially here! The first new couple introduced this season were James Solis And his wife Metallica Tantri SolisJames first met Metalia online, and traveled to Indonesia after just two months of dating to meet her. After their engagement, Metalia later moved to the United States to marry James. However, Metalia has grown tired of her life in America and now plans to return to Indonesia with James.
Ironically, James and Metalia have a lot in common with the infamous 90 Day Fiancé couple. The new couple shares many similarities with Gino Palazzolo and Jasmine Pineda, who became quite the controversial couple on the show. Will James and Metalia be as despised by fans as Gino and Jasmine? Or will the new couple take a more positive path on the show?
Metalia is very emotional like Jasmine.
From the start, Metalia opened up to viewers about her strong emotions. The Indonesian actress admitted that everything was always very emotional for her, and claimed that she could be “one in a thousand.” After James revealed that their dog JoJo could not come to Indonesia immediately, Metalia did not hold back. While the news was understandably upsetting, Metalia appeared to be over the top in the way she cried and screamed at James.
This may remind fans of Jasmine, who is also known for her constant crying and drama. Jasmine immediately showed viewers this side of herself when she first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days. After learning that Gino’s ex-wife had picked out the paint colors in his house, Jasmine lost her cool. Many viewers felt that Jasmine was overreacting after she broke down in tears. Since then, Jasmine’s segments have been filled with tears.
After a while, Jasmine’s crying gets boring and at this point, it’s getting really frustrating. A trailer for The Other Way season 6 shows Metalia breaking down again, this time in front of her parents. As Metalia cries that she’s become a burden, her father asks her to kiss her mother’s feet for forgiveness. This seems like another dramatic scene for Metalia, who seems to be following in Jasmine’s emotional footsteps.
James and Gino are both scared of their wives.
While Metalia’s personality is very similar to Jasmine’s, James also resembles Gino. From the moment they were introduced, it was clear that James was afraid of Metalia. When James joked about what Metalia would do to him if he cheated, he started laughing nervously. After the producer asked him why he was laughing, James joked that it was because Metalia is “so scary.”
If this sounds familiar, it might be because Gino has been through a similar experience. Gino has a more shy personality, which is often overshadowed by Jasmine’s more vocal personality. Over the course of their time on the show, it’s become clear that Jasmine makes Gino nervous. When Jasmine gets angry and yells at Gino, fear radiates across his face. It will be interesting to see if Metalia has the same effect on James as the season goes on.
Metalia and Yasmine had a hard time adjusting to the United States.
Another striking similarity between Metalia and Yasmin is their dislike of life in America. Metalia explained that it was difficult for her to adjust to the cold weather in Maine. The cold made her miss the warm temperatures of Indonesia and made her incredibly homesick. Furthermore, Metalia had a negative experience with doctors in the United States, which gave her another reason to return to Indonesia.
Similarly, Jasmine also complained of the cold when she arrived in Michigan. It was clear that Jasmine only came to America because it was Gino’s wish, as she seemed happier in Panama. While Jasmine is still in the States, it seems that the move eventually tore her and Gino apart. Will Metalia’s desire to return to Indonesia cause a rift between her and James? Or will the new couple find happiness abroad?
