RHOC’s Katie Ginella gives an update on meeting the mom

Katie Ginella She shared her adoption story this season on The Real Housewives of Orange County. She was adopted as a child and spent some time searching for her mother in South Korea. In Episode 14, the RHOC newbie announced that she was planning a family trip to meet her.

That was the plan at the time of filming, but viewers who were invested in Katie’s story were interested to see if Bravolebrity would be able to follow through. And if she finally meets her mother.

Katie Ginella remembers trying to find her mother at the time of her divorce

Katie exclusively told Bravo that the trip is still on hold due to unforeseen events. However, it is still a priority.

“My husband and I, right now, are still planning our trip. “My father-in-law passed away, so we had to put it off for a while,” Katie shared. “I would love to go back. Even just knowing where I came from would be so magical to me.

This is not the first time life events have delayed the meeting. Katie recalled pausing the procedure due to her divorce a decade ago.

“I had been trying to find my mother for about 10 or 11 years, but I was also on the verge of divorce, and I didn’t really want to have two big things in life happening at the same time, so I put it off and kind of split it up for a little while. A little bit,” she explained. “To turn 40 and enter my 40s and check that off my bucket list.”

Katie “appreciates” that her cast mates are so invested in her story

Katie regretted sharing so much with her colleagues during episode 14, but acknowledged their support.

“I talk a little bit about my adoption experience with women at a dinner party in London,” she said. “I explain to people that I feel like my life is a beautiful puzzle, and I have a missing piece at the bottom right, and I just want to put this puzzle piece together, and then I’ll feel whole.”

She added: “I didn’t really get close to everyone, but I think in that moment, every woman — even Heather [Dubrow] With the circumstances we were facing – we were really nice and receptive and really wanted to hear what would happen next and I appreciated that.

Earlier in the season, Katie shared that her adoptive parents took her into their home in Georgia. She had no contact with her heritage while growing up.

“I felt 100 percent different from my family,” she said in a confessional interview. “We didn’t talk about anything Korean, nor did we eat Korean food, but [my daughter] Kylie has a lot of interest in her Korean roots. She taught herself to read and speak Korean. Now we’re going out to eat at a Korean restaurant and my daughter is going to order food for me. “This is embarrassing,” I say.

It’s a full-circle moment for Katie, who wants Kylie to immerse herself in Korean heritage and meet her grandmother.
