Who has time to date when you’re going through a divorce? This is the unfortunate truth the Bachelorette alum Rachel Lindsay. In a recent interview, she talked about her love life, or lack thereof. Amid her messy split from Brian Abasolo, her priorities are elsewhere. Instead of trying to find a replacement for Brian, she tries to take care of herself.
Rachel Lindsay is focused on herself
Rachel and Brian separated earlier this year after four years of marriage. Brian submitted his application initially, and since then, they have been embroiled in a battle over finances. According to Brian, he is broke and in desperate need of spousal support. Rachel has hired a top divorce attorney to help her navigate this issue, but it’s still a contentious process.
Meanwhile, Rachel told Us Weekly that dating is off the table right now. Brian still takes up a lot of her time with this divorce, and she tries to focus on self-empowerment.
“Honestly, that’s not the focus right now,” Rachel said of dating. “I’m just trying to get through it. Then come to me.”
Getting through it looks different for everyone. For Rachel, she initially felt “exposed and vulnerable” after the breakup. She had difficulty understanding her new life and said it was a “daily struggle.” Now, after some time has passed, she is making her way toward a more positive mindset. She doesn’t need a man for that.
“friends [and] Family keeps me grounded,” Rachel explained. “I saw this quote the other day about romanticizing life and it was just learning about loving the simple things, whether that’s taking a walk, whether that’s just being thankful for the air we breathe. [or] Whether it’s like laughing with a friend.”
“I really hold on to those moments because they give me life,” she continued.
