Rachel Levis “tried the Mormon Church” after a mental health facility
He is Rachel Levis Looking to get baptized? Well, not exactly. But the former Vanderpump Rules star has had a brush with the Mormon Church, or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it is officially known.
The overlap between cult and reality television is surprisingly large. Lala Kent, in particular, grew up in Utah, surrounded by the influence of the church. And of course, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is somewhat inseparable from religion by taking place at its perceived center.
So, what is Rachel’s relationship with religion? Hear it from the former star herself.
Rachel’s discoveries during her rehabilitation
In the latest episode of her podcast, Rachel gets candid about her feelings about spirituality. “One of the things I discovered very early on was when I signed on to The Meadows [rehab facility] This was the spiritual element they were bringing into the treatment model.
Before she began her rehabilitation journey, Rachel admitted that she “had nothing to do with my higher power.” Instead, she believed she was “putting men in this position of superior power to me, and I would look to them for answers.” She further explained, “That’s how I got lost in my codependency. So, right away, I felt spiritual, and interesting.”
So, with this realization weighing heavily on her mind, Rachel searched for a gateway to holiness. “Since then, I have integrated this spirituality into my daily life, and I go to church on Sundays,” she explained. “I experienced the Mormon church,” she added. My friend took me to the Mormon church, but he didn’t say anything about Mormonism specifically.
While Rachel did not ultimately choose Mormonism, she did find something that left her content. “I’ve found a spiritual community here now, and it makes a huge difference because these people are looking to something bigger than themselves.”
