Paige DeSorbo defends West Wilson amid backlash
No one was happy with the method West Wilson Ciara Miller was a treat on Summer House Season 8, and most of all, she was her best friend Paige Desorbo. But she takes solace in the fact that there are worse men than that on Bravo.
“He knows what he did wrong,” Paige said. “The bag fumbled. It’s not like, ‘Oh my God, I’ll never talk to you again.’
Although they had some summer flirtation, Paige believes they “weren’t fully dating.” She hopes “they have room to be friends” at some point in the future. Describing West as a “great addition” to the Summer House team, she added, “He’s not like A.J [Tom] Sandoval“.
Short but sweet
Compared to what happened during Scandal, West and Ciara’s situation during the summer of 2023 was relatively innocent. Outside of the Hamptons home, Ciara and West made out a bit and spent some time sleeping. Additionally, the nurse/model met with West’s family, visited his brother in Chicago, and was scheduled for a fall 2023 wedding before splitting in December.
Summer House viewers were not happy to see Ciara’s heartache on display in the first part of the reunion. “I’ve been telling you all summer how intentional I am,” Ciara said, accusing West of playing games. “You got everything you wanted from me, and I got the bare minimum.”
But Paige has her best friend’s back. The social influencer claimed that once the cameras “cut off”, West “no longer needed” Ciara, and that’s when he ended the relationship.
In his defense, West admitted that he was new to dealing with all the fame and attention from the show’s mostly female fans. At the same time, he was trying to figure out his feelings for Siara.
Looking back at the reunion, Paige feels she said what she wanted to say and “stood up for my friend.” She stands by her questioning of West and hopes they can all move forward as friends.
“I’m very biased when… [it comes] “To my friends,” Paige continued. “I’m like angels, they’re the best. And I also have eyes. I see Ciara.” That was a real question [when I asked]”But what are you looking for if it’s not her?”
Instant popularity
Although Paige believes West flopped in the play, she realizes that he had no idea how popular he would become after joining the cast. “That’s not what I want to give [him] “Pass, but I don’t think West was anticipating how many people would actually watch the Bravo movie,” she said. Suddenly, girls were everywhere.”
Overall, West was a breath of fresh air for the show. She won’t hold a grudge and “won’t film with him…or won’t be his girlfriend anymore.”
For his part, West believed his new confession justified his inability to commit to Ciara. “I blamed a lot of outside factors for not being ready yet,” West admitted, while attributing his “disastrous” conversation with Ciara to the nerves of their first meeting. “The more I thought about it, the more I thought her feelings…were valid.”
Hopefully Ciara will finally get the man she deserves. Or more importantly, a man who deserves it Ha. And please let us watch it on TV.
