No one in their right mind would try to confront any of them.

No one in their right mind would try to compete with one of the greatest rappers of all time. EminemMarshall Mathers, also known by his stage name, is known for his bold lyrics and sarcastic songs. So it was a surprise to learn that The Real Housewives of Potomac Gisele Bryant And Robin Dixon The Bravo stars were in the midst of a very serious legal battle with him. They had many confrontations with their co-workers. But nothing could have prepared them for their battle with the Grammy winner.

Who would have thought that rappers and Real Housewives would have so much in common? But it turns out they both enjoy verbally abusing their peers and putting up a good legal fight. In December 2023, Eminem, Gisele, and Robyn found themselves embroiled in a trademark battle. Page Six was the first to report that Eminem was suing the ladies over the title of their podcast, Reasonably Shady.

In the documents, the rapper claimed that he believed his brand would be “damaged” if women were allowed to monetize their podcasts. He also claimed that the name of the podcast could “cause confusion in the minds of consumers,” who knew him by his nicknames Slim Shady and Shady.

Gisele and Robyn’s lawyers argued that affidavits from other people would only lead to a dead end. Especially when it came to their line of questioning. The lawyers argued that if they asked the other parties about “the reasons why Eminem chose and used the trademarks in question,” they could “be considered hearsay.” This in turn would deny the duo the opportunity to “obtain relevant information” that could have been more easily obtained through affidavits from the singer.

The famous rapper first became aware of the name issue after Robyn and Gisele tried to trademark the name of their podcast. The Bravo stars were hoping to be able to sell merchandise like water bottles, lip gloss, and jackets. But the 8 Mile star apparently immediately objected to their use of the word Shady. It’s important to note that Eminem owns the trademark for “Shady.”

Over the past few months, the battle has been raging. Gisele and Robyn asked the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to force Eminem to testify. The Lose Yourself singer said, “No, no, my words are not his words,” and asked that his manager be sent in his place. It turns out he’s too busy to deal with a C-list star. The Real Housewives of Potomac star’s lawyers responded, noting that “the claim that Mr. Mathers is too busy will not be sufficient to avoid having to testify, as both are celebrities in their own right, and have extended the courtesy of sitting down to testify to Eminem, and it is not too embarrassing for Eminem to extend the same courtesy for his commitment.”

The delusion was deep for these two reality TV stars. But the court favored the rapper’s argument, handing him a big win over In Touch. The panel ruled that Gisele and Robyn could testify against the rapper’s manager but not him. The court noted that Eminem had turned over 2,500 pages of documents requested by the reality TV stars. The panel shared that Gisele and Robyn “sufficiently demonstrated the need to take a witness statement in order to respond to the opposing party’s motion for summary judgment.” But the panel did not grant them access to the rapper.

It’s a huge blow to Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon.

The papers state that the women “failed to establish that Eminem’s statement, instead of (or in addition to) Mr. Rosenberg’s statement, is necessary to answer the motion for summary judgment.” “Especially since Mr. Rosenberg, not Eminem, filed the statement in support of the motion,” the ruling states. Gisele and Robyn will now have 30 days to complete Paul Rosenberg’s statement.

Eminem is probably sitting at home very happy. Glad he didn’t waste his time confronting two Bravo stars. But I’m sure Gisele and Robyn are very pissed. I guess you could say the rapper pulled a real Houdini move on them.

Tell us – do you think the Patent Office made the right decision in this case?
