‘No Drama’ at RHONJ Season 14 Replacement Party

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 has been anything but ordinary. Bravo has cemented its oddball status by confirming that the season will not end with a traditional reunion. On July 17, the network announced that the traditional reunion format will be replaced by a RHONJ finale viewing party.

The viewing party will be very different. However, this viewing party will maintain the divisions that arguably led to the collapse of season 14. Teresa Giudice and her friends will watch from one room while Melissa Gorga and her friends will watch from another.

Dolores Catania was the only cast member who communicated with both camps. Dolores reportedly moved between the two rooms during the rewatch. Fans were skeptical that this new format would live up to the previous encounters. Now, a source seems to confirm those suspicions.

A source recently spoke to Us Weekly , confirming fans’ worst fears about the reunion swap. “Teresa and Melissa didn’t speak to each other or cross paths,” the insider said. They also confirmed that Dolores was indeed the only cast member who traveled between the two rooms. “There was no drama,” the source said plainly.

“It was just the ladies commenting on the episode on camera. It was just the ending.” The insider commentary on TV production is interesting, hence the many podcasts hosted by reality stars. However, this format doesn’t seem like a good substitute for reunion.

Think about the typical reasons fans might watch a family reunion. On the one hand, a Housewives family reunion serves as a season recap. The cast typically relives the most dramatic points of the season. These discussions tend to create more drama. Keeping the cast divided while only discussing the ending seems like a recipe for boredom.

RHONJ Season 14 continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. A special rewatch of the finale will air on August 11.

Tell us – do you believe what the insiders are saying? Do you think there’s still a chance for Trey and Mel to face off?
