Nikki Garcia files for divorce from Artem Chigvintsev after his arrest

Two weeks after that Dancing with the stars Bro was arrested on domestic violence charges, Nikki filed for divorce, TMZ, citing online records, reported on Sept. 11.

The news didn’t come as a complete surprise, as Nikki was spotted without her wedding ring on two occasions after her estranged husband’s arrest on August 29: once while boarding a private jet from California two days later, and once while hosting Netflix’s “Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef” on September 2.

Similarly, media outlets began reporting that the 40-year-old star — who has a 4-year-old son named Mateo with Artem — was seeking divorce lawyers on September 3.

When E! News reached out to him for comment on Artem’s arrest and the divorce lawyer rumors, Nikki’s rep noted on both occasions that “this is a private matter, and Nikki is asking for privacy for herself and her family at this time.”
