Monique Samuels reveals why she rejects traitors
Monica Samuels of The Real Housewives of Potomac was supposed to be in the third season of Traitors. However, after hearing about an alleged scheme set up by the producers, she refused.
“I thought about doing the show,” she said in a video posted online. “I was really excited about it.”
“… They wanted me to be on the show, so I said, ‘Okay, let’s do it.’ The former Housewife continued, saying that she and the producers started talking numbers. “In order to travel far for that amount of time, I need to make sure the money is good,” she said. Later, Monique discussed what happens behind the scenes on reality TV, saying that talks were held up until the “last minute.” But it seems it wasn’t just conversations about money that kept her from filming in Scotland.

“In the background, I heard about some suspicious things that were going on,” Monique continued in her video. “So, apparently, they were trying to set me up and Candiace [Dillard Bassett] From RHOP on Traitors at the same time.
Monique and Candiace filmed seasons 3-5 of Potomac together until they got into a physical altercation. The former left the series at the end of season five and has not returned since.
“I didn’t know she was pregnant,” Monique said. “I didn’t know you were supposed to be on the show. The only reason I knew was because my manager was well connected.”
Monique described the alleged casting process as “low” and “high” before questioning why a pregnant woman would want to film a show like The Traitors anyway.
“Why would you try to take something from a completely different show and try to make it into something that could be really bad?” I wondered.
The mother of three said that although she was “excited” to do the show, the network “couldn’t afford me”. Once she learned of the “suspicious things” that allegedly happened, Monique asked Peacock to lose her number forever.
“I was like, ‘Let them know I say no not just this season but every other season.’” Like, I don’t do that at all now, because now you stopped me.
Whew. This sounds like a bunch of chaos.
