Max may have been a relic of Pump Rules past, but he recently resurfaced in Season 11. Katie Maloney shocked her ex Tom Schwartz when it was revealed that she hooked up multiple times with his best friend Max. However, Max did not appear in the final season. There could be several reasons for this.

Heavy reported that Max held a Q&A session on Instagram, and a fan asked him why he left the show. Max skipped the discussion of the problematic tweets and spoke directly about why he left TomTom instead.

“I left the bar because I didn’t like working there anymore. Because Ken owed me money. He owed me about $8,000 and didn’t pay me,” Max said. Couldn’t someone in Tom’s family step in and contact Ken or Lisa if this happened?

He continued: “I had to hire a lawyer and then he paid me.” And you know what he said? He said: I’m not paying you because you deserve it. “I’m paying you out of good faith.” However, Max has moved on. He said that everything is now “fine” and that the drama happened “years ago.”

Max also spilled the tea on the “Up and Adam” podcast about what he got paid for appearing on VPR. “They paid me little or nothing,” he said. As a new cast member, you’re not paid a casual rate…it’s just a flat rate. “It’s not much at all, it just helps you.”

“It was $4,000,” he claimed [or] Something…and they also pay it to you in installments.” My guess is that production thinks being on the show is enough of a payday. Max added: “It was difficult because I was spending a lot of money. I had to buy a lot of clothes because I didn’t want to wear the same clothes [expletive] Clothes in every episode… I have to travel to places with [the cast]And I spend money when it’s my turn to buy drinks for everyone.

If all is truly well between Max and Ken, perhaps we’ll see Max back on our screens next season. There’s definitely a story to be explored between him, Katie, and Tom. And maybe he’ll get more money this time too.

Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
