Together they opened a number of restaurants and were seemingly living a happy little life outside the reality TV bubble. It all started to unravel over the past year.
A source close to the couple spoke to Us Weekly and said that the two began to separate over the past year. For example, Matt has been absent from Marissa’s Instagram account since 2023. This is no coincidence.
“They had issues last year but broke up early this year. The insider claimed it took a long time. “They have grown apart in their marriage but are still best friends and amazing at co-parenting together.”
Sadly, Marissa confirmed their split on Instagram, saying that it took a lot of “soul searching” to conclude that their marriage was no longer working.
“Together, through tremendous soul-searching, we have grown our relationship into a place that gives us the space to raise our families, support each other, and grow our businesses,” Marissa wrote.
She continued: “Although our marriage was successful, it is now complete and we have made the decision to separate. The love we share for our family and mutual respect for each other will continue to grow in the next chapter as we commit to being parents, best friends and business partners.”
They are clearly very serious about maintaining that business relationship. The exes plan to add two new restaurants to their portfolio by the end of the year. It’s clear that between their three children and their ever-expanding business empire, these two will be in each other’s lives forever, even if they’re not married.
