Levi Wright’s mother details the traumatic last moments before the accident

Posthumous and rodeo star Spencer Wright3 year old Levi WrightCallie details the events leading up to Levi’s May 21 accident — which saw him and his toy tractor swept into a river — in a heartbreaking letter.

“Unless you were in my house, it’s hard to paint a picture of how something like this could happen,” she shared in a June 6 Facebook post. “There’s a creek that runs through our 24-acre property that separates our house from Grandma and Grandpa’s house, and through that creek is a road made of concrete. That’s how we got to their house safely most days.”

Callie – She is also a mother to her daughter Steely5, and son Pray, 9 months, with Spencer – also explained that her kids often ride their bikes, ride rides, or even walk, across the creek and that the trail only has water “for a short period of time during the year and it can change during the night.” She included a video of her family crossing the area on horseback as an example.

On the day of the accident, Levi “did nothing he hadn’t done before,” Calley wrote, but on this particular day the water was strong enough to push his tractor off the stretch of road.
