Although Kyle insists she was never an alcoholic, quitting alcohol is still a challenge. Watch her journey to recovery below.

Kyle faced peer pressure when he got sober.

In an Instagram post on July 18, Kyle shared her sobering accomplishment with her followers, just like her first year. “This week was my two-year anniversary (July 15th) and I remember a time when the idea of going two weeks without alcohol seemed impossible. I’m proud of the fact that I had the willpower to stay on track.”

Surprisingly, one of the biggest challenges Kyle faced was peer pressure. “Everyone loved Party Kyle,” she explained. “And I think that was the hardest part of it all. The resistance from other people.” She said it was hard for her inner people-pleaser to resist social drinking. “I knew right away that I wasn’t going to get much encouragement,” she wrote.

However, she managed to turn things around within herself. “My mental and physical health became more important to me than feeling like I had to ‘look good’ for a party or social event,” she said. Looking better was also a good motivator, she said. “I feel strong, energized and grateful for my body. I want to take care of it the way it took care of me.”

She added that alcohol might have made her recent tough times worse. “I want to wake up every day feeling my best,” she said. “I want to feel mentally and physically strong enough to face whatever comes my way.” She ended by saying that those she has inspired have inspired her in return.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock.
