Kristin Doute as The Bachelorette before Pump Rules

Long before any of us had heard of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump RulesOr the valley, guys Christine Doty I got an offer.

“When I worked at SUR before Vanderpump Rules, there was someone from,” she said BSC Enter. [They] He gave me a card and asked me to be a contestant. Because she had just started dating Tom Sandoval at the time and thought they “could be forever,” she declined.

“I could have been [part of] “Bachelor Nation instead of Bravo,” she joked. You made the right decision. She may have gotten a few episodes of The Bachelor, but she’ll almost certainly be forgotten by now. As it is, Kristen is still going strong with Bravo, two decades later.

I stuck with Sandoval

On June 13, Kristen and Luke Broderick hosted Bachelor Nation’s Joe Amabile on their Balancing Act podcast. After explaining why she turned down The Bachelor, Jo wondered if she would have been accepted if she were single.

“I think so,” she admitted. “But I thought you were getting paid or getting something weekly.” Joe explained that Bachelorette and Bachelorette contestants don’t get paid. “So you have to quit your job and everything,” Christine asked [in your life]”Yes. That’s basically it. Allegedly, the contestants also pay for their wardrobe, hair and makeup.”

Fortunately, Kristen became an original cast member of Pump Rules in 2013. Among other storylines, the first few seasons followed Kristen and Tom’s volatile relationship. They were together from 2007 to 2013, and broke up for good once Kristen admitted on-screen that she had slept with actor Jax Taylor. Kristen was fired from VPR in 2020, along with Stassi Schroeder, for her racially insensitive behavior toward another former cast member, Faith Stowers.

The former server was brought back into Bravo’s good graces earlier this year and was cast in the VPR spinoff The Valley. The new show features Kristen and Luke, along with Jax and his now-estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright. The Vanderpump alumni are shown navigating their suburban adult lives, raising children, and hanging out with other couples. Despite the fact that two of the show’s four central couples have broken up since the show began — Jesse and Michelle Lally have filed for divorce, as well as Jax and Britt’s split — The Valley has been renewed for a second season.

All episodes of Vanderpump Rules and The Valley are streaming on Peacock.
