Kelly Bensimon explains ending the engagement

Earlier this year, the Real Housewives of New York star was a runaway bride when she called off her engagement just four days before the wedding. Now, after some time has passed, she’s finally sharing more insights into what went wrong and where her love life stands today.
Kelly Bensimon’s wedding that almost happened
Scott originally popped the question to Kelly over the Fourth of July weekend in 2023. They had planned their wedding for the following summer, but Kelly called things off just four days before the ceremony. At the time, the rumor on the street was that Scott refused to sign a prenuptial agreement.
On WWHL, Andy complimented Kelly on being brave enough to call off the wedding on such short notice. Let’s be real: most of us would have agreed to that at that point. With that in mind, Andy said: “You’ve just saved a lot of turmoil.”
“I did, I did,” Kelly agreed, before diving into all the juicy details of the breakup.
“First of all, he didn’t sign my prenuptial agreement,” Kelly admitted. “So I protect my children, that’s what I do. I’m a parent, and they’re mine forever. And just because I love someone doesn’t mean I won’t make sure they’re safe.”
As far as Kelly’s love life goes today, she has confirmed that she is single. However, she is open to “new possibilities.” She’s dating. She’s having fun, and any future guys who come her way now know that a prenuptial agreement is non-negotiable.
