Katie Thurston reveals she was raped and demands justice to intervene

Bachelorette king Katie Thurston Katie opened up about her experience as a rape victim on June 29. She expressed her hope to help those in need. In an Instagram post, Katie spoke about the resources available to her immediately after she was assaulted.

“The justice system continues to fail victims every day. I refuse to feel defeated by the strength it took to stand up for myself. I hope my experience helps these people feel the strength and support they need. Although I am not ready to share my story, I do want to share the valuable resources I have “You saved my life.”

“I called 911 to report my rape. They sent an officer to take my statement and then drove me to a private medical center to get a SART scan. There were two women with me. One was the nurse and the other was my lawyer.” Katie described these two women as kind, caring and patient. “I felt like a lost little girl, weak and afraid.”

Katie said the women explained to her what would happen to her and gave her the option to “retreat or change.” [her] Mind at any time.” I researched the medical care provided, including a blood test and a backup plan. [of] “Whether I have insurance or not.”

Katie criticizes the “broken” justice system for failing to meet her demands

It took approximately four months to collect the DNA evidence and send it to laboratories/law enforcement. Meanwhile, Katie sought mental health support. She saw a therapist and had an attorney available via text message. It also explained to her the financial compensation for her care, as well as “potential loss of income, moving expenses, medical bills, therapy, and more.”

As for justice, Katie said she “did everything she could.” [she] “She should have done it as a rape victim.” But despite giving everything she could, it was as if a guilty verdict was never delivered.

“This is not a loss for me,” Katie continued. “No, this is another loss to a broken system. Change happens through failure. The justice system failed me. And it continues to fail thousands every day. But don’t give up.” She encouraged readers to “be your own biggest advocate,” and reminded everyone of their strength and worth. “I believe in you,” she concluded.
