As she shared her announcement that her chemotherapy was over, the Princess of Wales, who spoke openly about her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, offered insight into her difficult road to recovery.
“The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family,” Kate explained in a video posted to social media. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and the uncharted path.”
In the video, the 42-year-old can be seen enjoying moments with her family, including her husband. Prince William and their children Prince George11, Princess Charlotte9, and Prince Louis6.
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she added.
Kate explained that dealing with a health issue like cancer for a good part of a year “also brings you face to face with your vulnerabilities in a way you never thought about before, and with that, you get a new perspective on everything.”
