On June 21, AP News reported that Jolie’s sentence would be updated. Federal appellate judges overturned her initial ruling and asked lower courts to rewrite the order. The appeals panel described Jolie’s initial ruling as a “narrow case.”

The Three Judges 11y The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the original convictions of Todd and Julie. However, their ruling assumed an error in judgment regarding Jolie. The judges ruled that the lower court made an error in calculating her sentence, holding her liable for the entire bank fraud scheme.

The question of Jolie’s sentencing has returned to the lower court, with no details yet. “We are pleased that the court agreed that Jolie’s sentence was inappropriate, but we are clearly disappointed that it denied Todd’s appeal,” said Chrisley family attorney Alex Little. However, the Chrisley family remained “optimistic of more good news to come.”

As for the judges, they explained that Chrisley’s scheme dates back to 2006. However, neither prosecutors nor the lower court judge were able to cite “any specific evidence showing [Julie] I was involved in 2006.” The commission found evidence from 2007 onwards.

“We must vacate Jolie’s sentence so that the district court can address the narrow issue of the appropriate amount of loss attributable to Jolie,” the three-judge panel said.
