Jordan Chiles was "heart broken" After being stripped of her Olympic medal

In her first interview since being stripped of her bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics over a lesser-known rule, the gymnast fought back tears as she shared her thoughts on the issue.

“The biggest thing that was taken away from me,” Jordan began at the Forbes Powerful Women Summit on Wednesday, Sept. 11, “was the recognition of who I am. Not just my sport, but the person I am.”

As the 23-year-old explained, she felt like “everything that happened wasn’t about the medal, it was about the color of my skin. It was about the fact that there were things that led to this position as an athlete. And I felt like everything was being taken away from me.”

Although she knew she was surrounded by so much love and support, it was difficult for the Olympian to appreciate it all in the early days of making the decision.
