Jennifer Tilly Teases RHOBH Season 14: ‘Scarier Than Chucky’
Filming started in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14. Two new cast members joined the show this season: Housewife Bozoma St. John and Housewives’ Friend Jennifer Tilly.
“Oh my God, it’s crazy,” Jennifer said of her new gig. “It’s scarier than Chucky. I’ll tell you that. I’m not a housewife. I’m a friend, which is a lot easier. You just get in and out. You try to avoid flying debris. You know, if drinks are thrown, I have good reflexes so I can duck.”
Sitting next to her was her friend and Bound co-star Gina Gershon, who was very excited. “You’re going to be great at this,” she said. “They called me, [but] I was so scared. But you know what? You’re going to be a genius at this. You’re going to rule the whole group, Jane, I have no doubt about it.
This is not her first experience.
This isn’t Jennifer’s first time on the Housewives block. She made two guest appearances in season 13 as a favor to her close friend Sutton Strachey. Coincidentally, Sutton also began her tenure on the show as a friend of the Housewives in season 10.
Before her promotion was announced, Jennifer shared with Variety why she made guest appearances on those shows, which included going to lunch with Sutton or visiting her store.
Jennifer laughed that she “didn’t fit the role of the sympathetic friend” who was brought in to grill Sutton about her love life. “I was Barbara Walters in the episode,” she laughed, admitting that the role was tough because she prefers to be the center of attention. But as a die-hard RHOBH fan, she was just happy to be there.
“It was really fun,” Jennifer admitted. “I just did a few episodes, as a favor to Sutton for his appearance on Chucky. But it was so fun and exciting for me. I’m a huge fan. I was like, ‘Oh my God, here I am meeting all these ladies that I’ve been following for 14 years.’ Sometimes reality is really stranger than fiction.”
Sutton made her acting debut in a season 2 episode of Syfy and USA Network’s Jennifer as a favor to her friend. It’ll be fun to watch the two friends film the movie together. Hopefully it’ll bring some new stories and we can all stop talking about Kyle Richards.
