Jeffrey Dean Morgan to host competition show Destination X
Former star of The Walking Dead Jeffrey Dean Morgan He is the host of NBC’s newest game show, Destination X.
In its official press release, Destination X is described as a “larger-than-life adventure competition series” that blends “fantasy with reality.” Audiences will follow “contestants as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime but have no idea where they are.” Could they be somewhere in Burbank?
Sounds like fun. As long as JDM leaves the wire-wrapped baseball bat at home, I’m all for it.
Contestants use clues to figure out their location in Destination X.
The Destination X concept brings the board game to life. “In order to win, [contestants] “Participants must discover their mysterious locations,” the press release reads. “Once they board the dark Destination X bus, the ride transforms into a real-life game board.”
The trailer synopsis continues that players will face challenges that include “clues to their location, along with some misdirections to keep them guessing.”
First player to reach mysterious destination X ““A winner will be crowned.” Just like its CBS rival The Amazing Race, someone is eliminated at the end of each episode. But in a twist, contestants must guess where they will be at the end of each episode, and the person “who puts an X on the map furthest from the actual location” gets a plane ticket home.

In his press release, Jeffrey explained, “Destination X This game has captivated me with its mix of travel, mystery, and gaming. I can’t wait to take on this wild guessing game around the world as the party master, leading players through challenges that test their mental and physical abilities.
Destination X premieres midseason 2025 on NBC.
