I have a friend whose daughter is a beautiful dancer. She is balanced, determined and has a real passion for her craft. When I pick it up it restarts Dance momsI’m upset that mothers allow Abby Lee Miller to bully their daughters to the point of crying. The entire show consists of young dancers who were allowed by their parents to choose with them. Whether it was their appearance or their level of intelligence, it wasn’t pleasant. Abby was not polite because she would often ask the parents to do a medical examination for their children.

For many, Dance Moms was a comfort show. The Lifetime series showed us that no matter what was going on in our lives, at least we didn’t get yelled at while wearing miniskirts. But among the tantrums, there were great moments when it came to dancing. Their routines each week were perfectly choreographed magic. But Abby’s cruelty took root somewhere along the line and never left her.

Brock goes on a date

Brooke Hyland was the senior in the dance group. But that didn’t make her date with fellow dancer Kevin any less weird. They were both children, and the adults somehow thought it appropriate to force them into a planned night out. The scene is almost unbearable as Kevin was 17 and Brooke was only 15. Abby felt that the two needed to work on their chemistry in order for the duo to be successful in the next competition. “I think Kevin can get everyone’s attention,” Abby stated during her confessional after making fun of Brooke for not being interested in boys yet.

It is not surprising that Brooke has the greatest level of rationality, even in her early years. She indicated that she didn’t want a dance buddy because that would mean she would need to see him more. After telling her mother that she was going out to dinner that evening, Book added: “If Brandon thinks anything is going to happen between us, he’s crazy.”

Abstraction 101

It is never comfortable to watch young girls perform on stage. We’ve all seen toddlers and tiaras with lots of makeup. Every parent remembers the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. So it was very uncomfortable to see Abby choreographing a showgirl dance complete with a nude leotard. Abby was thinking about how to place the bright pink propellers “strategically” as if these little girls were working on a trip to Las Vegas.

I couldn’t tell if Abby was joking when she said, “I wanted my girls to learn proper technique because one day, one of them is going to be a showgirl.” Abby kept shouting orders about how to position her fans, saying, “I’m hot! You’re mean! You can’t have me! You can’t hold me! Crotch, tits. I’m still sitting here scratching my head why moms allowed this. But that’s the old argument of Sex sells, but at what cost?

Abby makes fun of a dancer’s voice
