Hopefully, 2025 starts off better for Jax Taylor than this year

Hopefully, Jax Taylor 2025 is starting better than this current year will end for him. For years, it was difficult to sympathize with The Valley star because he always seemed to enjoy the drama. But life became real after it was revealed that he had been handed full custody Brittany Cartwright. Although the former couple claims they are working together to achieve a positive outcome, Bravo fans are preparing for a fight.

As fans know, reality TV divorces rarely go well. Viewers were given a front seat to the deaths of Jax and Brittany in the first season of their new show. Jax was eager to open a sports bar, even against his wife’s wishes. The two couldn’t find solid ground, and fans weren’t happy to see Jax taking the spotlight on Britt while she was drinking. Fortunately, Season 2 will update viewers on everything the media has missed.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright file for divorce

When news broke that Brittany had finally decided to file for divorce from Jax, no one was really surprised. Jax was known as the villain on Vanderpump Rules, thanks to his constant flirtations and cheating ways. So when he settled down with his KFC bun, viewers didn’t think this fairy tale would last forever. Jax was repeatedly caught acting out for the cameras, which included defecating with the door open and getting into further infidelity issues after he tied the knot. The Bravo couple, who announced their split in February, listed their separation date as January 24, 2024.

After less than five years of marriage, Brittany decided to make the separation official by filing for divorce in August. The documents stated “irreconcilable differences.” At that time, she also requested primary legal and physical custody of their son Cruz and to grant Jax visitation with the child. In legal documents, Brittany also asked the court to block spousal support from being awarded to her or Jax. The petition said they are still verifying the assets that will be identified as separate and community property. Shortly after, Jax announced that he would be going to an inpatient treatment facility for one month to work on his mental health.

Jax Taylor gives full custody to Brittany Cartwright

The 45-year-old decided to give his estranged wife full legal and physical custody of their three-year-old son, Cruz. Jax chose to represent himself when he signed over parental rights to Cruise. Jax may also have made a mistake when filling out the document, per Bravo. While requesting an annulment of their marriage, Jax also checked the box stating that he and the 35-year-old were never legally married.

While in court, Jax also listed their Los Angeles home in the Valley as their only asset. However, the reality TV star requested that the property be divided “at a later date.” Jax chose to file the lawsuit in person in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County.

Jax Taylor messed up the custody papers

It turns out that Jax’s legal papers — handwritten and self-submitted — contained some editing errors. It was soon discovered that Jax had unintentionally checked the “not legally married” box. A Jax representative noted, “While Jax made errors in filling out forms that are typically performed by trained legal professionals. These errors will be corrected without delay. The October 2 statement did not identify the incorrect parts of his file. However, Jax’s rep added clarity, stating that “Jax and Brittany have long ago resolved all matters regarding Cruise’s custody and will continue to work together privately in the best interest of their son, which remains their primary concern.”

Jax has yet to speak about the matter, but he took to his Instagram account to share a photo on the same day he turned in the papers. “From October to December, your life will change for the better,” the post read. Brittany couldn’t hold back from throwing a little shade when she commented on a fan’s account, saying, “We’re legally married. I think the paperwork is hard on some people.” Brittany added a masking face emoji for good measure. Lance Bass even added, “I can confirm that. Pastor Lance signed the papers.” Let’s just hope these two can keep their nerve and come up with the best schedule for their son.
