The newest Orange Is a Housewife who isn’t afraid to confront Heather Dubrow over paparazzi photos. Katie has strong relationships with most of the women, except for Fancy Pants and Gina Kirschenheiter, who brought her to the show. Katie has been very open about her family. She’s already said that this is her second marriage. But now fans are realizing that all is not well.

Katie and her ex-husband, Andrew Sundseth, have been locked in a heated battle over child support and custody, In Touch reported. Court documents show that the newest star of The Real Housewives of Orange County settled their divorce in 2016, but it was rocky. The former couple had three children: Max, Gavin, and Kylie. Court documents indicated that Andrew would have primary legal and physical custody of the children and final say when it came to major decisions. At the time, Katie was granted visitation rights to all three children. Like many other divorces, the couple agreed not to make any derogatory comments about each other in front of their children.

According to the agreement, Andrew’s gross monthly income at the time was $6,995, while Katie’s was only $3,750. However, Katie was ordered to pay Andrew $1,220 in child support and continue to pay off his $500,000 life insurance policy. Andrew and Katie also waived their right to receive spousal support. Both Andrew and Katie were allowed to keep their personal property, such as jewelry and clothing. Andrew received a 2006 Scion XB and a 2003 Acura MDX.
The former golf reporter agreed to pay off her student loans and Verizon bills while Andrew got a house in Marietta, Georgia. As if that wasn’t enough, Katie also paid her ex-husband $5,000 to cover his legal bills. For the most part, it seemed like the two had settled their issues and moved on with their lives.

However, in 2018, The OC star filed for a modification of custody, which included parenting time and an existing child support agreement. Katie alleged that Andrew had subjected the three children to joint emotional abuse, “including telling the boys that they were scumbags” and “stupid.” The papers show that Katie also claimed that Andrew called their then-14-year-old daughter a “slut and a disgrace” and an “embarrassment.” Katie also objected to Andrew’s after-school schedule.
In the petition, Katie noted that her children were “home alone for two to three hours a week after school.” At that time, Katie requested primary physical and legal custody of their children and asked to end her demand for child support. Naturally, her ex-husband quickly filed a countersuit against Katie, but those documents were sealed. But the outlet obtained Katie’s response to the countersuit, and Andrew appears to be accusing his ex-wife of failing to pay child support.

Fast forward to March 2019, when Andrew and Katie entered a consent order regarding custody and support. They both decided to terminate child support. The Real Housewives of Orange County star was appointed primary guardian of her daughter. Andrew was declared the boys’ custodial parent. But in June, Katie returned to court to ask a judge to hold Andrew in contempt. Andrew was accused of refusing to sign school documents. The paperwork was to allow their daughter to enroll in her new school in Florida. Katie and Andrew refused to move forward with the case, and the case was dismissed in March 2023.
Katie seems to have recovered from her tumultuous divorce as she is now happily married to Matt Ginella.
