Every Bravo fan knows how hard that can be Summer House Kyle Cook Worked on the development of Loverboy. Kyle has always had a passion for business and is no stranger to dealing with startups. The number of distributors of Loverboy’s strong tea and canned cocktails has grown from five to 150 in one year. The drink even managed to outsell Bud Light Seltzer amid a global pandemic. Kyle was also a genius at marketing Summer House’s Loverboy. As viewers well know, he exclusively used his boxes, designed by Amanda Batula, as the main frame for each strip.
Everywhere you turn, there’s a variety box or limoncello spritz box staring straight into your soul. I’m not too proud to admit that I love a refreshing Loverboy and have ordered some of the merchandise! So it makes sense for Kyle to be upset when that happens Craig Conover, which sells pillows, has just partnered with a major competitor. When it comes to business, Kyle takes complex businesses exceptionally seriously. This season alone, we’ve seen him throw several tantrums about the state of the beverage franchise. Friendship means a lot to Kyle, but loyalty means even more.
Kyle is upset
During Watch What Happens Live, Kyle didn’t mince words when addressing his issues with the Southern Charm OG. When Andy Cohen asked why Spritz Society (the company in question) had signed Craig, Kyle had some insight. He noted that the founder of a rival beverage company had taken him to dinner but failed to mention Craig’s endorsement deal at the time.
This entire conversation took place while he was milking for industry information. Kyle stated that “it was days before the deal was made. So it’s a really shady process. And then Craig had already signed a deal when he confronted me. Then he claimed he didn’t know I was taking the spray. Unfortunately, that kind of forgetfulness catches up with Craig. But Hell, I’d still be upset if I were Kyle, wondering if it was worth keeping the friendship at all.
Kyle explains his side
The Loverboy founder wouldn’t even compare his work to that of the influential Craig. Instead, he said: “It’s not a competition if you don’t do anything. They’re riding you for your Instagram. All the articles that come out are about Loverboy. The Summer House star isn’t wrong. A quick trip around Google proved his sentiments. Most of the articles are about Post about Loverboy, so at least he’s getting some press out of the debacle Kyle went on to say, “I don’t wish anyone ill will, but the way they went about it really bothered me. Is craig fiber?
When Andy asked, “Does Craig have a reputation for lying?” “Well, that’s what I’ve been told,” Kyle quipped. “We launched an espresso martini during Winterhouse. He knows we don’t just do tea. To Kyle, it’s like Spritz Society is a copycat company that launched a year and a half after Loverboy; I took a page.” From the book Loverboy Kyle made a valid point: “When someone says, ‘It’s just business,’ that’s when they’re trying to justify a mistake they made. Seeing how quickly the deal went through, it looked like Craig was acting suspiciously.”
Craig’s side
On the other hand, Craig explains why he invested in the competing company. The Southern Charm star told Page Six that he “always wanted to have an alcohol brand in his portfolio.” “When the opportunity arose, it was easy to sell me,” Craig said. “I’m just a yes man! Part of my investment came from designing my own flavor. I’ll have my own packaging.” After taking a peek, I noticed that the Spritz Society packaging is also bright, bright and eye-catching, just like Loverboy.
While Craig avoided talking about him being a real rival to Loverboy, he added that he “always respects Kyle’s hustle.” While Craigy was more than willing to invest in Loverboy, he said, “It wasn’t an option.” I’m curious how partners handle this. Amanda and Paige DeSorbo are very close. Personally, if I were Paige, I would be angry that my friend would do anything to put my sister in danger. I hope these conversations continue into the new season of Southern Charm.
I don’t know. Personally, I think Kyle has every right to be extremely upset with his so-called friend. But as Bravo stars, they each have to do whatever they can to make as much of their name on reality TV, because, as we all know, fame is fleeting.
