Crumbl fans are outraged after secretly purchasing imported cookies

So much for a sweet treat.

Organizers behind the casual Crumbl Cookies pop-up shop in Sydney, Australia, are facing backlash after it was revealed that the baked goods featured at the pop-up were imported en masse from the US and resold at a much higher price.

Eager dessert lovers waited in line on September 29 for the chance to purchase North Bondi’s famous sweets for $17.50 AUD (about $12 USD) each. However, many attendees expressed disappointment with the not-so-fresh taste of the cookies.

While posting about her experience in the TikToker pop-up Sophia Kistina She noted that she “painted” that the event was not endorsed by the Utah-based cookie company.

“In terms of freshness, 0 out of 5,” she said in a second video as she tested the candy with a friend. “Was it worth waiting in line for 45 minutes? Maybe yes, because there’s no Crumble here, but no, because people were fighting.” [in line] And cookies are $17.
