Charleston’s King Street is set to get more Bravo representation. Craig Conover And austen kroll The Southern Charm stars are opening a new restaurant, and we finally get a first look at what to expect from the new eatery.
The reality TV star and entrepreneur owns a single restaurant in New York City called Carriage House. Their latest venture, called By The Way, aims to bring a new experience to Charleston in partnership with a company called Uptown Hospitality Group. The two just held a food tasting event to give friends and family a sneak peek at the restaurant, and honestly, it looks pretty cool.

Initially, when Craig and Austin announced their new venture, it seemed like it would be more of a bar. They teased the idea of a “neighborhood bar” that would bring tourists and locals together. However, the first taster of By The Way they just did makes it seem more upscale than just a random neighborhood bar. Either way, we’re here for it.
Craig and Austin shared photos of the tasting event on their social media, and it looked like a success. The dishes looked elegant, and there were no reports of food poisoning after the event. All good signs!
The tasting menu looked upscale but within reach of the average person’s taste buds. They had a Caesar salad stuffed with parmesan and bacon, shrimp pasta, and fried steak. For dessert, they had an espresso crème brûlée. Anyone else have a cinnamon problem?
Of course, dinner with Austin and Craig wouldn’t be complete without cocktails, so they also had martinis, sodas, and wine.
There’s no set grand opening date for By The Way, but Southern Charm friends have previously speculated that the grand opening will take place in the summer of 2024. That could be any day now! We’ll keep our eyes peeled for updates because the espresso crème brûlée experience is a must.
