Champion boxer Andrew Thamm dies at the age of 28 in a motorcycle accident

The boxing community is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Andrew Tham The company that managed his business confirmed that he died on June 2, three days after being involved in a motorcycle accident in Cumbernauld, Scotland. He was 28 years old.

“On behalf of the Tham family, St Andrews Sports Club is deeply saddened to confirm the tragic death of Andy Tham,” the organization wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on June 4. “It was an honor to have him in our stable throughout his professional boxing career and we will miss him greatly.”

The boxer, who began his professional boxing career in 2018 and won the featherweight title in September, suffered serious injuries after colliding with a Hyundai Tucson at 6:50 pm on May 30, and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Police Scotland shared in a press release.
