Captain Sandy defends Chef, who refuses to get out of bed

Season 9 of Below the surface of the Mediterranean Sea It premiered on June 3. Thanks to an incompetent caterer, the crew struggled during the first charter of the season due to shortages of supplies, especially champagne, rosé and red wine.

On the first night, head chef Aisha Scott left Elena Dubich in charge. But even though they had a great dinner at 9:00 a.m., the guests wanted more food at midnight. They ordered grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, and nachos with guacamole. Elena went to wake up Chef Jonathan “Juno” Shillingford.

Some crew members were surprised to see this Captain Sandy Yoon Along with the chef refusing to get up to prepare more food. After all, he had already spent the entire day cooking for the guests as well as feeding the Mustique crew. He had to be in the kitchen at 7:00 a.m. to start breakfast, so he didn’t need to get up in the middle of the night to make nachos.

“I have to wake up the chef,” Elena decided. “I’m sorry Chef, they ordered food…I’ll help you, we can do this together.”

“I don’t think so,” he replied.

“The boats I worked on before, I never made food for drunk people,” Elena continued. “I feel overwhelmed, and I need help…I can just make them grilled cheese and tell them this is what we have.” Why not?

You just bring them chips and salsa and say, “The kitchen is closed and the chef has gone to bed.” They must understand that he has to wake up early to cook for them.

Instead of drawing boundaries with the guests, Elena promised grilled cheese and even hired deckhand Gayle Cameron to help. But still overwhelmed, she went to wake Juno a second time.

“It is not my responsibility to cook meals for the guests,” she justified. “Not only am I unable to serve cocktails to the guests, but I can’t seem to manage the guests either. Juno’s selfish behavior makes me look bad.

“Never wake the chef”

When Juno still refused to get up, Elena tried to blame him. “Look, the only reason I’m coming back is because this is going to be a problem,” she said. “I don’t want you to do this to yourself over something silly like that.”

“I’m not doing anything. I haven’t slept enough,” he said.

“I hate waking up,” Juno explained in his confessional. I hate it… Bitch, are you stupid? This will not be a good experience for you.” Sir, are you okay?

The episode ended with Elena returning to the kitchen to try making grilled cheese while the guests clamored for more drinks. But previews for the next episode clearly showed Sandy defending Juno.

“Never wake the chef,” Sandy announced, startling Elena.

In another clip, the Slovenian citizen appeared confused. “I broke my ass and it’s all about waking up the chef,” she cried.

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
