Billions actor Akili McDowell has been arrested and charged with murder.

The actor who played the lead role in David makes the man On OWN and appeared in Billions– He was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting in Houston that occurred on July 20, authorities confirmed.

According to an August 3 update from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Ed GonzalezHomicide investigators have charged Akili McDowell (21) with murder in the shooting death of Cesar Peralta (20) McDowell was recently arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail.

Gonzalez stressed that the investigation is ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to contact the department.

As Gonzalez previously noted, Harris County deputies responded to an incident in the parking lot of an apartment building on Aug. 20 where an adult male “suffered from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.” The statement also noted that the suspects fled the scene.

It is not yet confirmed how McDowell was identified as a suspect and arrested.
