Bethenny Frankel thought she ‘could never be happy’

Divorce is not easy, and Bethenny Frankel She really wants her followers to understand that. The Real Housewives of New York star spent nearly a decade battling her ex-husband Jason Hobby in a bitter court battle. It was one of those rare cases where the legalities lasted longer than the marriage itself.

On Bethenny’s podcast, Just B Divorce, she gets candid about the long divorce process and the huge toll it has had on her psyche. She took a short break from the topic of divorce due to the loss of her mother, but now she is back to talking about it. In the latest release of her divorce records, she spoke candidly about the impact the whole thing had on her self-esteem.

A huge blow to the ego

Bethenny explained on YouTube that she addressed this topic before her mother died. However, she wanted to post the video to share her “difficult story.” She called it a “cautionary tale” for other people preparing to stop their marriage.

The divorce took nearly ten years to be settled, but Bethenny explained that she started feeling the weight of it in the first year. She said she felt “helpless” despite her status as an entrepreneur and reality TV star. In the video’s description, she detailed the emotional journey she went through.

“It has affected my health, my confidence, my work, my confidence, my faith, and my choices,” Bethenny wrote. “I thought I’d never be happy again, but now I am…and you can be too.”

Of course, we all have our opinions about Bethenny, but you have to sympathize with her here. The divorce with Jason affected her. Not to mention, her ex-husband ended up getting arrested after she claimed he was stalking and harassing her. The whole thing was a disaster.

According to Bethenny, one of the steps towards happiness came when she stopped caring what lawyers said about her. In the early days of the divorce, she said she felt like she was “competing” with Jason to be the best co-parent for their daughter, Brynn Hobby. Eventually, it all fades away, and she wants her followers to have that power, too.
