Bar Jax Taylor was slammed with poor reviews after the grand opening
They say “all press is good press” but I will say that won’t be the case here. If you’ve watched Bravo’s new hit series The Valley, you already know Jax Taylor Opened his own bar/restaurant.
Jax’s Studio City debuted in the final episode of the series with a soft opening to the audience. While his marriage to Brittany Cartwright was falling apart, Jax was just trying to make beer cheese the thing to eat in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately for Jax, customers didn’t really feel his stature and turned to Yelp to review his bomb.
“Not a good look”
As Page Six reported, Jax’s Studio City has faced poor reviews since opening in October of last year. Guests have complained about everything from the food to the service to the unpredictable hours.
One review ripped the place apart with a 1 star rating. “Everyone was so rude and we were so disappointed. We left after 10 minutes and will never come back. Definitely need to hire better people to represent your bar. Not a good look. I have never had such a horrible experience,” they wrote.
A more detailed review stated: “I hate to leave bad reviews but I have to be honest, this place was not good! I didn’t even have high expectations after word of mouth. The food was barely edible except for the pretzel. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the beer cheese or Nacho cheese, actually, I don’t think either of them was cheese.”
Finally, being able to verify this was an issue. “I’ve tried going here 4 times and they’ve never opened. Or they’ll say they open at 8pm and when we come in for a drink, they’re closed. It’s weird,” one of them explained.
Now for good
But Jax’s Studio City got some love in the form of five stars. One Yelp user gushed: “Great food, great atmosphere, and strong cocktails as they should be. The service here is solid. We only waited a few minutes for the cocktails and the food came out in less than 12 minutes. It was a fun experience and I would recommend this any day.”
Another added: “We had the best time at Jax’s! The drinks were great with lots of options and heavy pours. There was a bunch of actors from The Valley there and they were so friendly and excited to hang out with everyone.”
