If you watch WWHL, you know that having a celebrity like Oprah at the club is a big deal. It’s not like having a stranger on board Below Deck or a failed actor promoting his latest movie on Tubi. It’s TRUE big success!

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Andy recalled when Oprah visited the show in 2013, and he tried to ask her a rude question about whether or not she had ever “dipped in the ladies’ pool.” The question was not well received, and he admitted that it was one of the few low points he’s had in the past 15 years of hosting the show.

At the time, Oprah wasn’t pleased. She simply replied, “No, no, I didn’t. Thank you.” Recalling the awkward exchange, Andy said he felt some regret for going that route in the interview.

“It was a huge moment for me and the show,” Andy recalls. “I’m a huge Oprah fan.”

“Having Oprah Winfrey on the show meant a lot to me,” he continued. “It went so well, I turned around and asked her if she’d ever had sex with a woman. I mean, could I have just let it go?”

Andy said that a few days after the interview, Gayle King told him that Oprah didn’t know what “pool lady” meant. Sure, girl. Even Andy didn’t believe it.

“I thought I explained it pretty well there, but listen, I was so grateful that Oprah did the show and I still am. I think that episode remains my favorite episode,” he added.

Tell us – were you surprised that Andy regretted that moment with Oprah? Do you think that question should have been off-limits?
