While the host is adept at staying focused in the face of chaos, there have been a few episodes that have shaken him over the years.

When Lala Kent and James Kennedy kept swearing
Vanderpump Rules stars Lala Kent and James Kennedy’s appearance on Watch What Happens Live in 2015 was not safe on network television. The talk show is broadcast live, so Andy and his guests must abide by Federal Communications Commission regulations. Unfortunately for Andy, Lala and James couldn’t hold their dirty mouths back. The two dropped so many F-bombs that he had to step in.
“Is there any way you can stop swearing?” he pleaded with the Bravo stars. “You’re driving me crazy. It’s happened like eight times.”
If you watched the episode, you know that “eight” was a conservative estimate. If you played a drinking game where you had to take a shot every time these two people swore, you’d end up in the hospital.
James and Lala have appeared on WWHL several times since their 2015 faux pas and have managed to keep their verbal bombshells under control. What a joy to grow and learn from the media!
When Mary Cosby insulted Heather Jay’s body on Watch What Happens Live
In October 2023, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby visited Clubhouse to participate in a round of the popular game “Versace or Hibachi.” Mary and guest comedian Ziwei were asked to rate the housewives’ looks by deeming them either “Versace” or “Hibachi.”
As expected, Marie wasn’t impressed with any of the looks, and threw them all on the hibachi grid. Andy may not have been shocked by her disdain for Bravo stars’ fashion choices, but he did seem stunned by her statement about Heather Jay’s corset. When asked how she felt about the top of Heather’s corset, she said she thought it was a fake Gucci.
“I don’t think Gucci makes clothes like this, and I’ve never seen a size 14 corset,” she said.
Oh my! The comment seemed to shock both Andy and Ziwei. They looked so uncomfortable. Poor Heather. I think she was wearing a Gucci corset!
When Nene Leakes said, “Close your legs to married men” to Kim Zolciak on Watch What Happens Live
Nene Leakes’ appearance on WWHL in 2009 will forever be iconic. During the episode, Andy took a call from Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak, who was Nene’s co-star on the show. Nene wasted no time in attacking her co-star, calling her a “dumpster” and telling her to “shut it up.” [her] “Legs for married men.” Andy couldn’t contain his laughter. He had to hide it behind his cue cards.
Andy has always been a fan of Nene, so it’s no surprise that she made him cringe. He spoke about her legacy in an Instagram post in September 2020.
“Nene Leakes is an icon of this genre. She’s a machine of memes and catchy phrases. In 11 years of #WWHL, Nene has been our most frequent guest, and she’s always great,” he wrote in his post.

Sonja Morgan has lived 100 lives. During an April 2017 appearance on WWHL, she revealed that she was once in a relationship with Hollywood superstar Jack Nicholson.
“It’s so much fun… who hasn’t?” [dated him]“I told Andy. The host’s face lit up when Sonia revealed her secret date. When he asked her more, Sonia replied, “Don’t forget how old I am, and don’t forget those were the days before cell phones.” Andy asked the RHONY star about the nature of the relationship, asking if it was more than just a one-night stand. “Nobody can beat Nicholson,” she replied. What an icon! It left Andy stunned and so were we.
When Brandi Glanville Shared Too Much Information on WWHL
One of the most famous and embarrassing moments in WWHL history is when Brandi Glanville revealed intimate information about Real Housewives of Miami star Joanna Krupa.
During the episode, Andy received a message that Joanna had tweeted about Brandi that read, “No wonder her husband left her.” Ah. Well, Joanna picked the wrong Bravo star to mess with. Brandi responded to viewers by saying, “Mohamed told me her pussy stinks.” She didn’t reveal her last name, but we suspect she was referring to Mohamed Hadid, given her connection to RHOBH and her friendship with Lisa Vanderpump, one of Mohamed’s close friends.
These confessions shocked Andy, guest Mark Consuelos, and Andy’s parents, who were, unfortunately, behind the bar.
Joanna filed a defamation lawsuit against Brandi for the rude comment. In August 2017, Brandi released a statement to E! News apologizing for her words.
“I would like to apologize to Joanna Krupa for the comments I made about her,” Brandi began. “I am sorry for making such comments about Joanna Krupa, and I certainly never intended for my comments to be taken seriously or in such an exaggerated way.” She added, “I apologize because I never wanted my comments to tarnish Joanna Krupa’s reputation and I wish her continued success in life.”
