Amanda Knox’s defamation conviction in Kercher murder case upheld

According to NBC News, while outside the courtroom in Florence, Italy, Knox’s attorney told the outlet that he was “very surprised by the outcome of the decision and Amanda is very upset.”

The Seattle native Lumumba — a local bar owner for whom she worked part-time when she moved to Italy — was accused of killing Kercher during interrogation in 2007, leading to his arrest and two weeks in prison.
