Alex Baskin says Valley’s cast is ‘full now’

After season 11 of the three-part Vanderpump Rules series wrapped, fans are wondering where we go from here. is this you? Will the focus shift to the spin-off? the valley? Will any of the VPR animated crew show up? Alex Baskin He gave his thoughts on the cast of The Valley.

Pump Rules is “on hiatus” for the summer to allow the group a break from the intensity of the show. Although the reunion, in some ways, appeared to be a chapter wrapping up, no official announcement was made about a renewal or cancellation.

While we wait to find out the fate of Pump Rules, showrunner Alex sat down to answer questions about both VPR and its offshoot The Valley.

Ahead of the premiere of The Valley, VPR alumni Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright announced their split. Although production on the new series had finished filming at that time, cameras returned to rolling and a new trailer was produced. Baskin told The Hollywood Reporter that he took everything very seriously.

“I was more surprised than before,” he laughed. “We saw their pressure on the production…I was more surprised by the timing of it because I thought they were going to make it through the series premiere or even the entire season. But I think they simply couldn’t, because the tension was so great. It all kind of exploded when it happened that.

Although the breakup was similar in some ways to VPR’s Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s breakup, the interviewer wondered if they would continue filming together or if their animosity toward each other would prevent that.

“[Jax and Brittany’s situation] “It’s a little different,” Baskin replied. “Ariana and Tom were very extreme. She cut him out of her life, apart from the fact that they live together. It’s very different for Jax and Brittany, because they share a child, among other things. So they’re still in each other’s lives, they still have the same group Friends…they’re more connected, whether they like it or not.

Aside from their baby, Jax and Brittany still have businesses together, including Jax’s Studio City sports bar and their podcast, When Reality Strikes with Jax and Brittany. When they initially broke up, they hoped they could continue working together. But that may be difficult when Britt now says she “can’t be in the same room” with Jax.

When asked about future plans for The Valley, Alex brushed off the possibility of bringing in more Pump Rules graduates. “I know there’s a lot of speculation about that [Vanderpump] They’re moving to The Valley, but the cast is pretty full now. I confess. “I imagine you’ll continue to see crossovers like you did, but… it’s not like we need additional cast members.”

He added: “Between Jax and Brittany, and Jessie and Michelle, and a whole bunch of other developments, we really have a big focus on this show, and we’re excited to bring that back because, God knows, if we had the cameras around now there would be a lot more to cover, and it will be there when we do.”

The Valley continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
